A DuraPlus Chimney Cap is required for all chimney installations that terminate above the roof line. A chimney cap provides protection for your chimney by restricting animals and debris from falling inside the chimney flue causing a dangerous blockage. It also helps to keep rain and snow from your flu which can run down the chimney and into the appliance damaging the appliance itself. A spark arrestor with ÃaÃA½' mesh is included with this rain cap to stop burning embers from escaping your chimney. This cap does meet California spark arrestor requirements. 4 removable screws secure the rain caps lid to the base making it simple to remove for cleaning of the spark arrestor and sweeping of the chimney. Remember that all High Temperature Chimney Pipe is brand specific and cannot be mix matched. So The 6' DuraPlus Chimney Cap will only fit 6' DuraPlus Chimney Pipe.
